PROGRAM SERVICES OVERVIEW

PRE-VOCATIONAL AND VIDEOGRAPHY SKILLS TRAINING:

VIDEO PRODUCTION
This course focuses on the basic principles of VIDEO PRODUCTION with instruction from seasoned and prominent videographers and producers. The students will be introduced to the various show formats and particular skills required for each.  Each student will be assigned to equipment for use only during class.

Students will learn, in detail, all aspects of video production techniques; video camera parts and functions; principles, techniques and theory of video production; all aspects of camera operation, lighting and audio techniques. Videography training includes sessions on camera operation, handheld techniques, studio lighting, lighting terms, how microphones work, audio booth, recording, types of recorders, pre-production, studio production, field production, TV scenery, elements of scene design, working with talent, guests and audiences.

Field trips to various sites of interest in the Washington DC area will be a part of instruction and hands-on practice.

Job development will assist students in exploring competitive employment options of their choice. Current opportunities available in the videography industry include camera man, audio technician, lighting technician, make up artist, stage hand, scene designing, talk show host/moderator and production assistant.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:           Upon successful completion of the video production class, each student will be presented with a certificate of completion, specifying the area of concentration. 

NEW VISION ONE STOP EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM:

New Vision One-Stop Employment Program is designed to allow referring students access to a wide range of employment services. The program is equipped with state-of-the-art personal computers with the accompanying software, an industrial copying machine, fax machines and telephones for providing office skills and customer service training.

NEW VISION ONE STOP SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM:

New Vision Photography Program, Inc. supported employment and long-term follow-along services will refer students for competitive employment opportunities at or above the minimum wage. New Vision Photography Program, Inc. will provide on going individualized support to each student based on his/her needs. Professionally trained staff will assist students with exploring employment opportunities in the photography industry as well as other vocational interests. Staff will also provide the necessary support such as a job coach to assure the student’s success in their employment. Resume software will be available to assist students in developing resumes and cover letters and to provide assistance in preparing for interviews.

NEW VISION OFFICE SKILLS PRE-VOCATIONAL TRAINING & SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT:
The objective of this program is to increase program participants’ knowledge and skills base for careers in the administrative office and clerical industry. New Vision Office Skills Training Program will provide a computer lab with current software, an industrial copying machine, fax machines and telephones for customer service training. Supported Employment program services are designed to place program participants into administrative/office industry competitive employment at or above the minimum wage.
